The Baotou Chemical Carbon Dioxide Recovery Project of the National Energy Group has been fully put into operation, with an annual emission reduction of 300000 tons

On May 29, 2026, the Baotou Chemical Carbon Dioxide Recovery and Comprehensive Utilization Project of China National Energy Group was fully completed and put into operation. This project relies on the process advantages of the low-temperature methanol washing unit in the methanol plant purification device, optimizes and transforms the original production system, and adds a dedicated pipeline for carbon dioxide export. 

 

In the initial stage, it can stably export 300000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Two years later, the production capacity will increase to 500000 tons, which will be pressurized and liquefied by downstream enterprises and transported to oil fields for oil displacement and storage operations. The project runs smoothly and has achieved export revenue and stable profitability
