Polyurethane foam thermal insulation LCO₂ (liquid carbon dioxide) storage tank is an atmospheric/low-pressure low-temperature storage tank that uses rigid polyurethane foam to cast on site or spray foam for thermal insulation. It is mainly aimed at CO₂ recovery and storage application scenarios that are small and medium-sized, intermittent operation, or sensitive to initial investment. It is an important supplement and economical alternative to traditional vacuum powder insulated large storage tanks.

Main components

 

1. Tank body
a. Inner tank: made of stainless steel, used for storing low-temperature LCO₂.
b. Outer tank: made of carbon steel, used as a protective shell and supporting insulation layer


2. Insulation system
Polyurethane foam insulation layer: filled in the interlayer of the inner/outer tank, and formed a continuous and seamless insulation layer by pouring foam on site to eliminate cold bridges.


3. Pipeline and accessories
a. Inlet and outlet system: low-temperature valves and pipelines.
b. Instrument system: level gauge, pressure gauge, thermometer, safety valve and bursting disc.
c. Pressure boosting/reducing system: an evaporator or pressure reducing valve used to maintain stable pressure inside the tank.


4. Basic and safety facilities
a. Load bearing and anti settlement foundation: usually concrete ring beam or column foundation.
b. Cofferdam and leakage detection: meet safety regulations.
